History

Virginia started painting in 2005.

Since 2007 her paintings have become linked to her own spiritual journey and as such each painting is a reflection of a season of growth in Christ as directed by the Holy Spirit.

The paintings are used in ministry events for the glory of God.

Paintings

The Fruit Of The Spirit

John 15 v 4-5 (NKJV)
Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.”

During this season the Lord taught me the difference between spirit, soul and body. Everything that God made available to me through the finished work of Christ is in my born again spirit. The more time I spend focusing on Christ, ‘The Vine’, in God’s Word and renewing my mind, the more I will bear good ‘fruit’ to the world around me.

The Glorified Christ

Ephesians 1 v 3-4 (GNT)
“Let us give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! For in our union with Christ He has blessed us by giving us every spiritual blessing in the heavenly world. Even before the world was made, God had already chosen us to be His through our union with Christ, so that we would be holy and without fault before Him.”

This painting represents the union between a believer and Christ. The more I focused on my identity in Christ the more my self-worth improved, and the less impact the opinion of others had on me.

I may have finished with this painting, but it has not finished with me!

The Risen Christ

Romans 10 v 9-10 (GNT)
If you confess that Jesus is Lord and believe that God raised Him from death, you will be saved. For it is by our faith that we are put right with God; it is by our confession that we are saved.”

The significance of the Resurrection of Christ became more real to me during this period. Not only did He provide the way of salvation for us, but He is the Head of a new species of being that had never existed before – the ‘new born again’ son/daughter of God. Hallelujah!

The Crucified Christ

Galatians 2 v 20 (NKJV)
If Jesus is our Saviour and Lord, then – “We have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer we who live, but Christ lives in us; and the life which we now live in the flesh we live by faith in the Son of God, who loved us and gave Himself for us.”

The painting of the Crucified Christ was a journey of greater depth and understanding of what Jesus accomplished on the cross for me. The more I focused on this truth, the more the love of God became real to me.

Servanthood

Matthew 20 v 26-28 (NKJV)
“…Whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant.  And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave—  just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”

With this painting the Lord worked in my relationship with my husband and taught me to serve him as unto the Lord. I learned to take responsibility for my own actions, release my husband into God’s hands and stop trying to change him. Our marriage relationship is healthier now than ever before.

This painting is a constant reminder of Christlikeness.

The Eagle

Isaiah 40 v 31 (NIV)
“…Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

This is my first spiritual painting and symbolises the “me” I desire and aspire to be. But I believe that it symbolises the way every believer in Jesus Christ should live on this side of eternity. The eagle Christian glides into the presence of God by a lifestyle of prayer and praise, free from all bondages, burdens and yokes, secure in the knowledge of God’s love, mercy and grace.

This painting challenges and encourages me; my prayer is that it does the same for you!
